Our custom dig barrier system is designed to prevent animals from burrowing beneath homes where exposed foundation foam insulation and moisture barriers create common entry points. This exclusion method provides a long-lasting solution while preserving the appearance of the landscape.
Our installation process includes:
- Carefully pulling back decorative landscape rock and weed barrier fabric.
- Excavating an 8–12 inch trench along the home's foundation.
- Installing heavy-duty galvanized steel screening mesh beneath the soil and extending it vertically behind the foundation moisture barrier and siding where possible.
- Securing the mesh with landscape stakes to prevent movement or future digging.
- Backfilling the trench to lock the barrier into place.
- Reinstalling the weed barrier fabric and returning the decorative rock to its original condition.
This creates an underground steel barrier that prevents wildlife such as raccoons, skunks, woodchucks (groundhogs), foxes, rabbits, opossums, and other burrowing animals from digging beneath the structure while remaining virtually invisible once complete.
